I suddenly had the realization that I'm actually alive, observing the world around my. The second time was also as a child, only this time I was older and walking in the forest. I was so young I didn't even remember my own name, but I still remember this experience because of the sound. The first time it happened was the very first tme I took a good look at myself in the mirror as a child. I don't start vibrating, my eyes don't move, and it doesn't move anwhere in my body.

Anyways, here's my case: I only get it as a brief, electric, extremely loud and skull-penetrating sound. You should first of all check out the exploding head syndrome, which is probably something similiar or the same as what some of you have. This is actually a common topic in the meditation community, as hightened awareness and higher levels of consciousness is probably the cause in many cases. To those who said they enjoy it.YOU'RE FREAKING NUTS!!!!! So nice to get this off my chest to people who understand this creepy sensation. If ANYONE, ANYONE has any useful information or suggestions, by all means please reply. I have come to the conclusion that I will just have to deal with this terrible "thing" until someone finds the answer. Well, I don't know about the rest of you, but I am getting really tired of paying my copays for nothing. Every person who has gone to doc gets the same look and the same answer. I think this is some type of neurological disorder that hasn't really been studied. I do have a background of paxil and celexa use, although I have messed with the dosage also, looking for an answer.none. Also the no reception idea works for imagery. I read all the above blogs and there are only a couple that do not really describe my sensation, but the "starWars" one really nailed it!!! Those words totally describe it. I feel like I am going to go insane when I have a bad day of what I call "the fuzzies". When my GP told me to go to psych, I got really pissed. When I get them alot in 1 day, I cannot function. But I still have reached no conclusions as to why I had the lapse. Last year, I had almost 2 months without this horrific was heaven!!! I have changed my diet, drank more water, blah, blah, blah. One doc suggested a seizure disorder but neuro did not follow up when I requested 48 hour brain wave test. I have been tested for MS, lime disease, syphilus, HIV. I have been diagnosed with parasthesia, which is a bullcrap term that means absolutley nothing. But once I am laying down, I don't feel them anymore. I am always sitting, standing, or walking. There have been 3 instances where my balance was completely knocked off, the floor felt like a rolling earthquake, and instant severe nausea. Sometimes I get the buzzing down my arms and into my fingers.

Sometimes I even start to cry because I feel like I am going to go nuts just from the sensation. After that I always feel super tired, thirsty, sluggish, confused, can't think clearly, and extremely irritable. Sometimes 1 or 2 mild ones and then there's the terrible ones where I get like 5-15. I instinctively close my eyes when it happens, sometimes helps. I have been stared at by every doc like i'm nuts!!! This started for me in Nov of 06. 2 neurologists, 3 GP, 1 psychiatrist, and 3 MRI's later and I still have no answers. You know what the worst part about the head buzz is? It's when it's momentarily 'shut off' for a second. How the hell do you call out of work with these symptoms? I'm starting to get stabbing pains in my head along with hum. I woke up a few hours ago and still have this head buzz. All night, instead of sleeping, I was head-buzzing. Well, last night the head-buzz didn't go away. Then I'm freaking out because I feel like my head is being electrocuted.

But then slowly over time, right when I'm about to fall asleep at night my head would start buzzing. Maybe I was getting a dependency on it? After I stopped I had a couple days of really bad head pains. the excedrin itself was causing my headaches. I got to the point where I think I didn't even need the excedrin. I spent an entire year taking Excedrin and was OD'ing on it without realizing it. A little background: I had migraines for about 2 years. I take no medications whatsover and my brain is currently going through that electric hum as everybody else describes.
